On a Blue Moon

It was a summer night on a blue moon (the second full moon in a month, happens every two to three years. It is said that a blue moon has more power then a regular full moon.)

I was told by a Babalao (an African priest I see) that I should make an offering to Ochun (the goddess of the river) as she takes care of me. Because he knows there aren’t a lot of rivers in LA he sent me to the ocean as all rivers end in the ocean.

I planned it all out, and invited one of my best friend, who is a Christian but has an open mind. I told her to shower before we went and to wear white. We both did that. We planned to drive to Arizona that weekend to have a personal reading with the Babalao, so we drove from LA to San Diego. Stopped on a beach near there.

As we got out of the car and began to walk, I remembered I left my offering (white flowers). I turned back, while my best friend slowed down. As I walked back my friend was about 30 feet ahead of me. As I looked down the path way I saw a lady looking onto the sand the ocean being in from of me, she was looking to the side into the darkness. I remember thinking “what is she looking at, is her family there?”

As I came up to the place where she was at, something inside told me to look, because I had forgotten Well, there was no lady there instead there was a sign with the name of the beach. At that moment I called out my friends name and told her “I just saw a lady standing there”, she turned and said “no way, I did too.”

We told each other what we saw, a lady with long hair in dark blue or black dressing a skirt or long dress.

We went ahead and did all that we where there to do. And left. On our way to Arizona, we could not believe what we had seen and tried to explain it but couldn’t.

I told the babalao about it. He said that was Yemaya (the goddess of the ocean).

And that is the closest story I have to a ghost story. Was it a goddess or ghost? I don’t know.

Feronia

This morning I woke up and began a search to find Feronia, she called my attention right away. Ive always thought we are currently in a process of being enslaved if we havent been already. I believe our human rights are being stripped away from us, hence, the reason I will be a Peoples Lawyer once I pass the BAR. Oh, I havent had a chance to share with you, I received the results of my BAR exam in July 2012 and I was not in the list of names which passed the test. I will be taking the exam again in February 2013. Back to my finding, once an attorney I will be fighting for the freedom of those who have been enslaved by our unjust economic and social system. 

Feronia calls to me for all that she represents. 

Feronia—her name is also sometimes spelled Ferronia– is an ancient, pre-Roman, Italian witch goddess. Ruler of the marketplace—a place traditionally associated with witches—she exerts dominion over magic, freedom, and prosperity. Once upon a time, if slaves managed to sit on a stone in her shrine, their freedom was gained. Feronia’s themes are fertility, abundance, earth, freedom, sports and recreation. Her symbols are fire and coals.  This Roman fire Goddess provides fertility and abundance during even the harshest of times. When boredom sets in, she arrives with arms bearing festive energies and earth’s riches as a ‘pick-me-up’. According to Roman tradition, She is also the patroness and liberator of slaves, or of anything that allegorically enslaves us.

Feronia is to set you free from the chains that bind you. Free from stress, worry, tension, insecurity, doubt, blocked emotion and any other limitations that enslave you and prevent you from achieving your true potential.

Every November 13, the Plebeian games opened in Rome with all manners of sport competitions. This festival also honored the Goddess Feronia and her liberating nature.  Mirroring this theme, get outside and do something physical to release any anger or tension you bear. Give it into Feronia’s care so She can transform it into healthful energy.

Carry a piece of coal today to generate a little of Feronia’s abundance in all your efforts. Keeping this near your stove (or any fire source, like the heater) maintains this Goddess’s energy in your home year-round. If a day comes when you have a really pressing need, burn the coal in Feronia’s liberating flames to release the magic for fast manifestation.

If you find your inner reserves waning with the winter’s darkness, light a candle sometime today to invoke Feronia’s vitality. Better still, light it for a few minutes each day until you feel your energy returning.”

White Magick

My Magick wand

I went camping with my family a couple of weekends ago. As we go hiking, biking, camping and fishing when ever we get a chance. On our hikes we take some time to look at rocks, leaves and twigs. Every once in a while I pick up a walking stick to carry with me along the way and my 4year old does the same. There are times I pick up smaller stick to give them a swirl as if to command it to give me a sign, but they never did. Not until our last camping trip, when I picked up a long thin stick and gave it a swirl. I could not believe what I felt it was like a jolt of energy, the hairs in my harm raised and I felt the energy travel my body all at once. So, I tried it again, sure enough it happened again. I quickly told my husband, "I found my magick wand". He turned and ask me what I said so I told him, he responded "really". I handed him my wand and he felt it too. My wand is currently sitting in our alter in the entrance of our apartment. I look at it as I wash the dishes, I wait for a day I will have time to dress it and make it my own. It must be a special day and I must put a lot of thought into the making of it.

One Day at a Time

I have so many ideas going threw my mind. I want a whole line of beauty products made with natural herbs and material. I cant wait to have my site and goods ready for you all. I wish I can leave my 9-5 and do this full time. Im a witch there is not way around it. 

Have been working really hard putting together my website and this blog. Im not computer savvy, so Im learning as I go. But Im really exited to be in a new chapter in my life. In addition to finding out if I passed the BAR Exam in a little over a week. Not, sure Im ready to hear the results. I think thats one of the reasons why Im focusing so hard on my other passions. Then again my creative side comes out during the winter solstice, not sure why. This is also the time I start to work on my Book of Shadows.

The time has come

Its been a while, I know. I have been thinking long and hard about what it is I love to do. The truth of the matter is that I love magick, I love teaching, I love helping others. I want to be free to be able to do all of the above. I have made a decision and that is to dedicate all my free time to freeing my self form a  9-5.
