Ladies, I've been super busy as can be.
You will be pleased to know I continue to study for the BAR exam, taking the BAR SECRETS approach. Have 8 topics memories in level 1. Need to speed it up a bit.
I actually got some work done on my Book of Shadows, have no idea how that happened but here are a couple of pictures. I water colored...all credit goes to Magic Love Crow.
Also, I just found out someone left a dead chicken and some bones with chilly on them right at the entrance of my mothers home. She is of the believe that if you believes in it she gives it power. However, I believe it has power whether you believe or not as long as the other person believes. I told my cousin who is a much stronger witch then I and we agreed to cleanse my mothers home while she is not there. Im thinking of adding a magickal grid at her house for future protection.
The children are children my oldest will start kindergarden next month. He will be attending a charter school which will teach him English, Spanish and Nahualt (Aztec) and Mandarin. He is really exited and so am I. Love the back to school specials cant go wrong with that. The little one gave me a black eye last week, as I lay in their bed set on the floor talking to my best friend about her adventures in her last trip to Brazil. My boys ran around the house the little one came running into the room and flew super man style right into my face, breaking my glasses right in my face, the glasses broke and cut my eyelid about an inch. It was a nasty nasty black eye and everyone even my mother, mainly my mother thought it was my loving partner. I felt super bad for him, as he was given the dirty looks and I the "oh, I feel sorry for you" look. It was indeed embarrassing.

Inspired by the Goddess
I was first inspired by Magic Love Crow to paint as I always enjoy her art work. So I decided to pull out that old watercolor kit I purchased at Costco years ago. The kit comes with a few pictures drawn for you, all you have to do is fill it in. That is what I did in this first picture.
The second was all me, I drew it with a pencil and colored it in my self. I was inspired by the Goddess and the Mexican representation of the Goddess, that is The Virgin Mary. My next painting will be politically oriented.
Hope you ladies and guys enjoy.

Life Up Date
I definitely miss blogging a whole lot and all my blog friends, hope that I can come back to it soon. I tried to do a blog a week, but that didnt work.
So, whats been going on you ask?
Work: I have that second job working 10-15hrs a week at an aunts business, as an office administrator. There is always something to do so that job gives me a lot of energy. Its new. At my old job or my full time job everything is same ol' same ol' thing. Good news, my boss is leaving the organization after 11 years. I actually did some bura bura for him to leave to a better places at the beginning of this year. Didnt think it worked, but 6 months later he is going. He will take a year off to travel the world. wow! Now, I need to do some bura bura for me to get his job. :)
My business: What can I say I dont put much into it, the website kinda just sits there. Dont know how to get traffic on it. Not too worried about it, it will happen when it does.
Personal: What can I say its like living with two kids under 5 and a teen boy, the 3 of them drive me nuts, kids and daddy. Yet, Im so blessed to have a family so beautiful. We want to take the 4th of July weekend to go camping. We want to go to Yosemite, but it is booked, so is Sequoia. So we need to think of something else. Maybe, camping on the beach. Miztli my 5 year old picked up skate boarding and I picked up watercolor painting. I will take a picture and share soon, I just filled in the colors, dont think I became an artist over night, lol. By the way the watercolor painting was inspired by Magic Love Crow.
School/Study: Well, Im part of the Executive Board for my school, People's College of Law. I try to be as active as possible as it is a student run school for the most part. On the studying, Im getting more of it done. With the new part time job I have lots of extra cash, so I have invested in some study material, about $250. I wish I can take a prep course but those are about $4000. So, Im good with the extra study material called BAR Secrets, they are really good, very visual with charts and all. The plan is to take the exam for February 2014, I have the money saved for the exam already, so that wont be a problem again. Im really exited to start to study, I need to get that little paper they call a license to stop some of this abuse of power by some folks.
Spiritually: Im on pause on that. Haven't been doing much, but my dailies or weeklies I should say, its down to cleaning my house on the weekends. Although, I have been listening to the secret on CD and I just got The Four Agreements on CD too. The Four Agreements is a really good book, Ive been putting it to practice and it helps to be mindful with my words.
Well, thats about it ladies. Busy busy as can be. Again, I really do miss reading your blogs and reading your comments.

Book Fair
A couple of weekend ago we had the Spanish book fair in town. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and for those who dont know Im a book collector. I purchased two books for my children one of which was a Wizards book titled "Magos". It is a lovely book which describes the different type of Wizards, those who use the power of persuasion, the power of illusion and many more. It reviews the the items/tools a wizard needs and the history. It is in Spanish but a very good read.
Then during the week I had a home inspection up in the valley. When I drive up there I like to stop by one of the old fashion book stores owned by an old couple. There I found this great Wizard Handbook which includes 50 spells. My idea is to give it to my oldest child when he has the ability to use it.
On another note, whats up with pinterest, I was able to add my pictures without the widget. Anyone know if we can still do that and how?

My Witch's Hutch
I have been dreaming about having my own witch hutch for a while now, even wrote a blog about it. Well, I finally made it happen. I found the perfect hutch at a perfect price and had the money to get it all at the same time,it just came together. I was waiting a few months for it to happen. Well, it finally did and below budget, I was willing to pay $150, but I found it for only $60 on craigslist.
I am so happy, as soon as we brought it up stairs I began to put it together. All my little nick nacks and books, its coming together. Here are a few pictures. Im so happy.

My Money Corner
I was surfing the net and found this website http://www.kenlauher.com, on feng shui, not even sure how I got there but I did. I watched a couple of videos and got motivated to move some things around in my home.
I decided to start at my money corner. I had several items known to attract wealth but had them here and there. It took me about 5 minutes to clean the area and put all the items together.
I added a money tree, a water fountain, a citrine stone, a money frog, a couple of visualization tools and an apple. Not sure why I added the apple. It seemed a bit empty or as if something was missing, I walked around the house and thought of an apple. Have no idea why, I just went with it.
I will let know what develops and when that area in my life gets on track. And if you have any ideas of things I can add, by all means let me know.
Blessings and wealth to all.

I know, I know
I know it's been a while. It's not like I don't think about you all, I really do. I even have my next two blogs just waiting to be typed and posted.
I have a lot going on at the moment. As I got a second J-O-B, Im helping an aunt in her family business a couple of hours in the morning, before going in to my full time job.
Not to mention my full time job.
It's a little spending money, which I have allocated to the weekend spending with the family. I found my self not going out on the weekends because it wasn't in our budget. But now I get a small check each week just to go out to eat and have fun with the family. It's nice but it still seems like its just never enough. Why is that?

Treasure Hunt
I love going to local swap-meets, you can find some true treasures. When I find little nick nacks most people dont really know what it is or what it is used for.
This past weekend I found this little figure/hand gesture, its about 3 inches tall and made of wood with crystals glued at the base. Im sure most of you are a wear of the meaning behind this hand gesture. For those who are not, it basically reverts any negative energy sent your way. There are several hand gestures that do the same and are different around the world.
This particular hand gesture is one of my favorites along with the one where you flick your thumb outward on you upper teeth.
I love it, I saw it and thought hooooo, I must have it. Im thinking of taking it to work.

Weekend Get Away
Well, we are getting ready to go on our first camping trip of the year, we are going to Lake Perris. We will be going with my cousin and his family along with other family. We like using these weekend get-aways as a mini-prep course. Time to reconnect with Mother Nature.
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings

How do you Fill Up Your Life?
I found this post on my Facebook, read it and thought you might enjoy it. Great end of the week reminded to spend some quality time with the family and friends. Brought to you by True Activist on Facebook.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes”. The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed The professor waited for the laughter to subside… “Now”, said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things… Your family, your children, your health, your friends, your favorite passions. Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.” “The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your home, your car.” “The sand is everything else… The small stuff.” If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house or fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities, the rest is just sand. One student asked, “What about the beer?” The professor responded, “No matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of beers.”

Take Your Shoes Off
I picked this up a while back and that is to take my shoes off when I come home. I read in a Feng Shui book, not sure witch one, but I read that on a daily bases we go about our day picking up dead/negative energy with our shoes and when we get home we welcome into our home. The cure for that ill is taking your shoes off at the door, its best to keep your shoes in a closet by the door. We dont have one by the door so we keep a shoe rack right next to the door. Doesn't always look all nice but it can happen.

It's Sad
Im sadden a bit, disillusioned.
Its sad that education has such a high price on it.
My deadline to pay for the exam was April 1, a universal joke, I guess.
I was crunching numbers and the reality hit home. I paid my rent or paid my test. With two small children at home there was nothing to think about.
So they say.....I'll try to believe that.

It's True
It's about that time of the year again!
Its sad to realize that this is what I know.
I'm not feeling excited about it at all, but I do know it has to get done. I have a sea of emotions and doubts.
I'm mad at my self because I didn't start sooner.
But when I thought about studying, I thought
I think, "what about if I cant do it?"
I know what my future holds for me!
. |
But Im really going to
I try to stay focus on my goal
because I dont think this is the solution to our social problems!
Sooooooo.......
In August to be exact.

A Witche's Garden
I dont really know when it all happened but a day came when I realized the importance of herbs and food, mainly of learning how to grow our own food. When I found out of Monsanto's master plan to control the worlds food production it freaked the hell out of me.
Our home, my mother's home that is, began to have a major transformation. In the early 2000's we cut down four huge and beautiful shade trees, I felt terrible about it. However, they did not produce much other then shade, that too is useful but in the great scheme of things not more so then food. In their place we planted five fruit trees, a cherry tree, an apple tree, a plum tree, a apricot tree and a peach tree. We have added so many more, a mango tree, a avocado tree, a lemon tree, two guava trees, a orange tree, a tangerine tree and a pomegranate.
We have attempted an organic garden two years in a row with some success. Lots of herbs like lavender, peppermint, lemon grass, aloe vera, horse tail, vervain, ginger and lots of peppers. We have a raspberry bush, a chayote vine we had a passion flower vine but our pit peed on it until it killed it he did the same to out coconut twice. I cant emphasize how important it is to be self sufficient.
