Its Official

I had my second child to bring a sibling for our first and only child. You see I grew up  living a lonely life as an only child and so my partner and I embarked on a new journey, a second child. The first couple of months of my pregnancy were great, everyone said it was a girl, even the old wise women I call mama-nita, my grandmother on my mothers side, who I happen to be named after.

So, I shopped and bought little dresses and little shoes and a "little sister" onesie which by the way I still have hanging in my closet. I want a little girl so bad it hurts it makes me want to cry, who will I give my Book of Shadows to, if not my little girl? I could pass it down to Miztli who looks like he will become a great Wizard in deed. We will see, only time will tell.

In the mean time we have been compiling all the tips from everyone we talk to about having a little girl.  You would be surprised the advice we have received, everything from diet to position and the cycle of the moon. My partner was told a Full Moon is good for conceiving a girl and so this past full moon we gave it a go. We are going for the girl one last time, three children are more then enough for someone who swore she would be a childless old cat lady. It took us a long while to decide if we actually wanted to give it another try, considering the challenge the two boys are. But our hearts pound each time we see a little girl in the park, who then tags along with us and starts to call my partner daddy. It's official we are trying to get pregnant one last time.
We are taking another go at it.

Yea, my BAR exam is coming up and I will likely be prego while I sit there stressed out about the random legal question I just got asked and have no idea what to write. But that is life you either do something or not.

I Can Fly

For as long as I can remember I've had vivid dreams of me having the ability to fly. In these dreams I am always being followed or chased by someone or something and in my attempts of escaping, I fly away. However, its always a challenge getting my self to fly. In different occasions I climb up homes or trees to get my self high enough to be able to fly away, others I run a bit before jumping into the air.But they all end the same, once I notice that Im flying I get scared and begin to fall.

A few days ago I had one of those flying dreams, I was running away from someone and was climbing a tree and pushing my self with the trees branches, until finally I took flight. And again as soon as I felt my self flying in the middle of the sky I began to fall. Down, down, down.....I went, as soon as I was about to hit the floor I gently landed on a clear meadow with fluffy green grass, I was fine and suddenly awoke.

A Revelation

When I first found out about Monsanto and its master plan to control world production of food, it scared the hell out of me. You see Im not religious at all, as far as organized religion goes. That however does not mean I do not read, I've read the Bible, I'd say more then some so called religious folks.

And when I think of Revelations, the so called mark of the beast and the current state of world, well, it gets me to thinking. More so with multinational corporations and governments meeting secretly and planning the future of the world.

I think of Monsanto's Terminator seed, that is a seed which has not been genetically modified can be saved and grown next season, however, Monsanto's Terminator seed, GMO's seeds, terminate after a few months of storing them, so farmers cannot save and plant them next season. Farmers are then forced to purchase seeds from Monsanto every year. Total control. Can you tell me what you would do to feed your children? Total control.

Then you have monsanto modifying seeds to produce goods that dont have seeds. For example seedless watermelons, seedless grapes, seedless tomatoes, seedless ....and the list goes on. Sure its convenient to eat a seedless grape or watermelon, but have you thought what will happen when we wanted to grow our own food. One day it might be too late for us to do anything about it.

Further, when farmers use GMO seeds they must use Round Up a pesticide to kill weeds, once the farmer uses Round Up on his land he will never, well maybe not never, but surely it will take the land a long while to restore it self. What happens is that the Round Up is so strong that if a farmer plants anything else that is not GMO seeds it will die after only growing one or two feet. That is the  whole crop production will die, because it is not Round Up resistant as GMO seeds are.

The point of this post was me sharing how we have planted over 12 fruit trees at my moms home and here are some pictures of our Guava tree and how we learned how to can them to keep in our emergency food supply.

The Secret

The Secret came to me in 2005 via a college friend and it truly has changed my life for the better. I personally think that The Secret (the law of attraction that is) is what Wiccan's/Witches/Pagans call Magick. Through positive visualization, meditation, intent and the power of the word (spells or prayer) we create our own reality we work the Magick in the world.

Every now and then when Im drifting away into this worldly world I am reminded by someone about The Secret. For several weeks I have been visiting an aunt of mine who is a witch, she married my uncle so she is not blood related yet she too is a witch so we have lots in common. For a few weeks now she has been on a roll because she received The Secret on CD's so she burned them for me. Ive been listening to The Secret on my drive to and from work and I wanted to share with you a tool which has helped me focus my energy. I hope you enjoy it.

Magick is all Around

 Life can be so overwhelming that we tend to forget that Magick is all around us. On the weekends we like to take a hike up a mountain close by which has a small lake at the top of it. It is here that time seems to slow down just a tat, enough to appreciate the true Magick in life.

Family becomes the center of all of it. Raising children is such a huge responsibility, hate people who take it so lightly. I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful family and wonderful partner in life, he truly is my soul mate and a great teacher of mine. Although, I can do without him some days and it all depends on the time of the day.  I guess that is just part of it all.  Same goes with our kids, very challenging in deed, but magickal all on its self.
