Magick is all Around

 Life can be so overwhelming that we tend to forget that Magick is all around us. On the weekends we like to take a hike up a mountain close by which has a small lake at the top of it. It is here that time seems to slow down just a tat, enough to appreciate the true Magick in life.

Family becomes the center of all of it. Raising children is such a huge responsibility, hate people who take it so lightly. I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful family and wonderful partner in life, he truly is my soul mate and a great teacher of mine. Although, I can do without him some days and it all depends on the time of the day.  I guess that is just part of it all.  Same goes with our kids, very challenging in deed, but magickal all on its self.

10 Things About Myself

1. Love talking about politics, law, religion and magick. As all of those things build the world around us, how could people not want to talk about it. I question everything, even my self. 
2. I believe every human around the world has the right to travel freely, to health care and education. There should not be any private property, the earth belongs to all of us and when we die we dont take it with us. 
3. Im a do it your self kinda gal and I believe I can do it better then most because I always do my best.
4. I dream big and don't tell me I cant do it! I can do what ever I want. 
5. Im inpatient specially with people who are slow or ignorant. And dont repeat stuff to me, I get it the first time you say it and if I dont I will ask. 
6. I think of how my life impacts others at all times, while I drive, walk, talk even when I have my occasional cigaret (I will not smoke in front of children no, no, no)
7. I have mild-dyslexia and ADD and take natural herbs for that (occasionally)
8. Im a herbalist, love herbs for healing and for magick. 
9. I secretly want to be the Chicana Martha Stewart. 
10. I want to own my own Store full of magickal stuff and herbs. 

Ring My Bell

I read somewhere on line or in a book that bells ward off bad spirits, bad vibrations, negativity or what ever else you wish to call it. I've heard that bad spirits dont like the sound of bells. I guess that is why a mass always begins with the priest walking in while he rings a bell. Mass is a ritual on its self.

I also read that wind chimes are good room dividers, as they prepare the brain for a different room with a different purpose. Its also good because it lets you know when someone has come in the home. And if you have them around the house you can literally know what part of the house people are walking by.

At my moms house I had a wind chime separating each room, the kitchen from the dinning room and another from the kitchen to the living room and in the hall way that led to the bedroom, restroom and dinning room. In our apartment I haven't been able to do all that, although, I have recently added one on our front door. Which I think is the most important because it is the entrance of the home and sets the mood for the home.

I brought them from my moms home where they hanged from the living room to the patio. Now they are here at our front door, I purchased them several years ago at a World Market, I think that is the name of store. This store carries items from around the world, I believe this item is from recycled tags and it was made in the india.

Change

I've made some small changes to my blog. I changed the tittle on my blog page from About me to Nuestra Familia= Our Family. I plan to post family life events on that page,I would like it to be like a blogs Home page where I can place different Post, but Im not sure if I can do that. I've also placed my Dinner Time post there too, I want to keep my Home page about the craft and not other stuff. Any Ideas, ladies?

Pirul

Pirul grows as a tree and is the green leafy bunch's I put together. This past Sunday we took a hike by our home and noticed a lady walking with a hand full, as I looked around I noticed that there was a tree growing close to the ground on a side as these trees are very tall and hard to get to the branches. It has little red seeds as you can see in the picture.

Im getting there, what is it for. In our community these branches are used for cleansing. Have you ever watched a movie with a lady or shaman sweeping a person with a bunch of green leaves? Well, these are it.

They can be used to clean a person from negative vibes and or a home. I personally have used this herb in several occasions. When you are cleansing a person you want to make sure they are standing in their front door with the door open and their back to the outside and you make sweeping motions as to sweep out the negative. You can also clean the home in the same way, start at the back door to the front of the house and out the front door.

I also like to hang a fresh bunch in my front door on the inside of the home to keep bad away.

The Treasure I Found

A couple of weeks ago I saw something at the Los Angeles Community College swap meet that I really wanted but I was unwilling to pay the asking price. I am not really good at asking for a discount as I too sell my products and hate when people ask for a discount when I believe I have prices my product rarely. Hence, I never ask for a discount although I really wanted it and was willing to pay $20 but not $25.

That weekend passed and another one came and I was still thinking of the item I so wanted to have. My husband suggested we go back to see if it was still there. As we walked into the swap meet I told him to go and see and try to get it for $15, he came back and said she will take $20. I thought, "well, that is perfect because Im willing to pay $20". He went back to the stand and bought my most desired treasure. I had always wanted one but never made it a priority and never went looking for one. Yet, it came to me, I'd like to think as it was still waiting for the the following week.
